  • It can take hours or even days to document an existing structure. 3D scanners allow you to reduce as-built documentation time and fee, while potentially producing greater detail and model accuracy.

    3D scanning can also be used during the construction process for comprehensive documentation.

    Project Area: 0-2000 GSF = $750

    Every Additional 1000 GSF beyond 2000 GSF will be billed at $100/1000 GSF.

    TRAVEL TIME

    1 hour of travel time is included in the base fee ($750). Travel time > 1 hour will be billed at $100/hour

    BIM OR CAD FILE (OPTIONAL)

    BIM & CAD files are an additional deliverable you can purchase from Drafting House. The BIM model will comply with LOD 200 architecture specifications. This includes the building’s basic elements, such as walls, floors, windows, doors, stairs, plumbing fixtures, appliances and cabinetry (view our example project for more information). You will receive the model in the form of a RVT file, compatible with Revit 2025 and newer. If you need an older version of Revit, please let us know when scheduling your scan. AutoCAD files will be created from the Revit file and will include schematic floor plans and exterior elevations. If you need a higher level of development, contact Drafting House directly.

    Every Additional 1000 GSF beyond 2000 GSF will be billed at $300/1000 GSF.

  • Drafting House will store the data for your scan up to 1 year. If you want to extend this time, contact Drafting House directly. Drafting House LLC does not make any warranties regarding the use or the results of the use of content created in terms of their correctness, accuracy, reliability, or otherwise. See Leica BLK 360, specification sheet for more information on the scanning technology. If you utilize Leica’s HxDR cloud service, you agree to the terms set forth in their Acceptable Use Policy, https://hxdr.app/acceptable-use-policy.

    How long does it take to receive the point cloud?

    This depends on the size of the project. Typically we will provide the point cloud in 2-business days and if you request a BIM or CAD file this will be delivered in 5 business days. If you need the deliverables by a specific date, please indicate this when you complete the service request form.

    How should I prepare the site?

    Clean and organize site, hide personal items, keep pets contained.
